SUFC Need a new right back. Here is why, and why we might look again to a Norway?

As we look ahead to the summer transfer market, a key position for us to consider is that of right back. In this video, we will look why this is the case, and at one of the hopefuls Chris has his eye on and the chances of him being lucky enough to join the blades in the Sumer.

Firstly let's look at who we have currently had capable of right-back, and why we will need to strengthen this part of the pitch. At the moment Chris has fielded George Baldock every premier league game. He’s had on the bench Phil Jagielka who can cover Eagan or Baldock should one be injured. However it's likely this is jags last season as a player in the premiership because in august this year he will, of course, be 38. He's already the oldest outfield player to have played this season in the premiership.

This leaves us with just Kieron Freeman who has been with the blades for 5 years but has been out of favour for the last couple of seasons. His contract also expires in the summer and its very unlikely we will keep him. So we’ve got our eye on another player from the Norway national squad who I believe could be a perfect fit for the current line up and put up a series challenge for the right-back position.

His name is Omar Elabdellaoui, currently, captain of the international side and his domestic team, with 44 national caps at the age of 27 he is currently finding the form of his life and has put in some fantastic performances for both country, and his current club Olympiacos.

Olympiacos is greeks most successful team, currently sitting comfortably on top of their premier division. However, Elabdellaoui is out of contract in the summer and it's looking very likely he will be wanting to ride the crest of his wave and join an English team and continue to play European football. And of course, we all know we are going abroad. So why Elabdellaoui? Been a right-sided player he should link up well with sander berg, and he's a very fit, fast attacking right back and is also comfortable playing right midfield. This, of course, suits our play perfectly. He's also within our price range of around 6 million.

This may be pushed up a little because its likely Leicester City will also be making a play to sign him. What do you think? Do you think we should be cautious of another Norwegian? Or do you think this guy would hit the ground running?
